Strawberry season is upon us and the folks at the Federation of Mass Farmers Markets are taking full advantage with a statewide fundraiser highlighting this sweet seasonal treat in the first annual Strawberry Dessert Festival. From June 14th through June 29th, more than a dozen restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds from every order of their strawberry-based desserts to the Federation. It couldn’t be easier to lend your support – all you have to do is order dessert at a participating restaurant – 51 Lincoln, Avila, Beacon Hill Bistro, Bella Luna, Bistro 5, Chez Henri, Davio’s, The Fireplace, Flora, Highland Kitchen, Lineage, Lumière, Persephone, Tomasso Trattoria and UpStairs on the Square. Garden at the Cellar will be featuring a savory strawberry dish and Whole Foods stores all over Massachusetts will donate ten percent of the proceeds from June strawberry rhubarb pie sales as well.
