Coming up in May, more than a hundred of the city’s chefs and pastry chefs unite in the fight against breast cancer for the 8th annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer. Here’s how it works: from Monday, May 7th through Sunday, May 13th participating restaurants will add a special dessert to their menus – 100 percent of the proceeds from said dessert will be donated to the Eva Brownman Breast Cancer Fund, which has raised over $600,000 since 1991. As a diner, all you have to do is enjoy a delectable after-dinner treat like the assorted cookie platter at Olives or the warm molten chocolate cake at Avenue One. This year’s event honors Wendy English, sister of chef and restaurateur Todd English, who lost her battle with breast cancer in April of 2006.
