A World Class Asparagus Celebration

The world would be at a loss if the town of Hadley decided to stop producing its signature crop: asparagus. On Sunday, June 1st, join the folks from public radio station WGBY on the Hadley Town Common for the second annual Asparagus Festival. The celebration includes an entire day of festivities (music, yoga, Beers and Spears and all sorts of family fun) and a gala dinner featuring some of Western Massachusetts’ most notable chefs. The Red Lion Inn’s Brian Alberg, for example, will be preparing a Wolfe Spring Farm asparagus salad with Cricket Creek Farm feta and Berkshire Mountain Bakery olive crostini as one of the courses. Tickets for the dinner, which includes a signature cocktail and wine pairings, are available online for $125 each (though WGBY members can snap theirs up for just $100). Head to the WGBY website for tickets and more info.
