Affable, award-winning chef Matt Jennings will be welcoming studious food lovers to the crudo counter at Townsman this fall for a series of cooking classes. On the second Sunday of the month starting in October, twenty lucky guests will get to watch Jennings and his team (and a few guest stars from the culinary community) in action as they break down topics like sustainable seafood, Thanksgiving eats and favorites for the holidays. Classes start at 5:00pm and cost $100 per person. Consult the schedule below and reserve your spot online here.
Sunday, October 9th: Seafood Feast. Jennings and company will demo a couple crudo plates, shuck some oysters and clams, and show you how to do a clambake at home. Matt Henderson from Wulf’s Fish will be on hand and after it’s all said and done, there’ll be a seafood feast at the community table in the bar.
Sunday, November 13th: Thanksgiving Prep. Hosting the holiday will be a breeze with tips and tricks from the Townsman team. They’ll talk sides, the ins-and-outs of brining, as well as cheeses and charcuterie for entertaining, holiday cocktails and even pie-making. Afterwards, there’ll be heavy snacks and football-watching.
Sunday, December 11th: What’s Cookin’ For Christmas! Bar Manager, Silas, will show you how to create a perfectly balanced holiday cocktail, followed by a tasting of some of Jennings’ favorite seasonal dishes. There might even be a surprise visit from someone wearing the red and white. After the demo, everyone will sit down to a smorgasbord of delectable dishes.
