On Sunday, October 17th East Cambridge will be smoking up a storm. From 12:00 to 4:00pm Cambridge Street between Fulkerson and Sixth will transform into a smoky showdown with several area restaurants competing for top Q honors. Be on the lookout for Hungry Mother, Oleana, Tupelo and Bambara (among others) who will be firing up their smokers to see who can cook up the best rib. There’s $500 to the charity of their choice on the line. Fest guests will reap the rewards of all this bbq-ing – tasting and voting for whichever rib ranks best. Tickets, which can be purchased online, cost $15 each and entitle the bearer to one serving of each competitors’ meat – additional dishes will be also be available for purchase from the restaurants. Make sure you have a ticket so you can smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.
