Last-minute heads up for burger lovers: chefs from a handful of Boston hotspots will be vying for the title of best burger maker at the Burger Slam on Saturday, June 8th. Get your buns over to Spontaneous Celebrations located (45 Danforth Street in Jamaica Plain) between 6:00 and 10:00pm to try offerings from the cookers at Gaslight, The Haven, Bravo at the MFA and Sycamore. You’ll get to cast your vote for the People’s Choice while the experts Julia Collin Davison of America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country, and politicians John Connolly, Mike Ross, and Bill Walczak pick their favorites. Proceeds from the event, which also includes a silent auction and raffle, will fund the construction of an outdoor classroom and science enrichment at the JP Manning School. Tickets, priced at $20 each, are up for grabs online. Get yours before they’re all gone.
