The James Beard Foundation hits the road and heads for Meritage at the Boston Harbor Hotel this month with their Celebrity Chef Tour. On Saturday, September 24th chef Daniel Bruce hosts a harbor-side Beard Foundation dinner. The evening kicks off at 7:00pm with a cocktail reception and Bruce’s signature tasting spoons, followed by a five-course dinner paired with a selection of Mondavi wines. Highlights from the evening’s menu include thyme and elderberry glazed Long Island duck breast and wild mushroom fricassee; prosciutto wrapped roast venison loin, black lentils, flash fried parsnips and smoky bacon; and a duet of warm pear and almond pithivier and caramelized heirloom apple tart with moscato laced gelato.
