The Friends of Boston’s Homeless hosts the 19th annual Beyond Shelter Event at the State Room on Thursday, April 27th, enlisting chefs from twenty-three Boston area eateries to help raise funds for their transitional programming. From 6:00-11:00pm, guests can groove to the big band tunes of Kendrick Oliver & The New Life Jazz Orchestra, while bidding on auction items like a deluxe trip to NYC or a weekend stay at The Four Seasons Boston. There are great raffle prizes and, of course, a dazzling array of sweet and savory treats from Hamersley’s, Azure, Paris Creperie, Union Bar and Grille, Spire, Vox Populi, Flour Bakery + Café, Redbones, Gargoyles on the Square and Rancatore’s Ice Cream, among others. Tickets cost $100 per person, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Friends of Boston’s Homeless’ transitional programs including, Permanent Affordable Housing, Job Training, and Adult Education and Literacy.
