dante Crowns the Sultan of Soup

The competition-loving cooks at dante are at it again, turning this year’s annual cook-off into a Soup Slurpdown. They’ve already mastered meatballs and rocked ravioli, so this year they’re turning their attention to everybody’s favorite cold weather comfort food. On Sunday, November 21st chef Dante de Magistris is bringing back a few of his friends to see who’s soup skills are superior – Marc Orfaly of Pigalle, Anthony Caturano of Prezza, Jason Santos of Gargoyles, Michael Schlow of Via Matta, Radius and Alta Strada, Tiffani Faison of Rocca, Colin Lynch of Menton, Ting San of Oishii, Jay Silva of Bambara, Chris Coombs of Deuxave and dbar, Will Gilson of Garden at the Cellar, Evan Deluty of Stella, Louis DiBiccari of Sel de la Terre, Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa and Rodney Murillo of Avila will all face off on the patio, offering up their savory stews, zesty zuppas and brilliant broths to chilly patrons who will get to vote for their favorite. The competitive fun will run from 2:00 to 5:00pm – and it’s a go come rain or shine so make sure you reserve your $20 ticket asap. Call 617.497.4200 or email events@restaurantdante.com for your ticket to slurp.
