Insignia is Jospeh Phelps Vineyard’s best known wine. It was a key influence in the Meritage tradition of blending varietals in California. The 1974 Insignia, released in the spring of 1978, was the first Bordeaux-style blend produced in California under a proprietary label. On Wednesday, March 9th Tom Shelton, president and COO of Joseph Phelps Vineyards, will offer a vertical tasting of this elegant wine, including a library vintage.
