Black Trumpet Bistro takes their participation in this year’s RAFT Grow Out to the next level, hosting an Heirloom Harvest Barn Dinner on Sunday, October 11th. Reserve yourself a spot and take a Sunday drive to Stratham, New Hampshire (just a seven mile hop skip and a jump from Portsmouth) for a multi-course meal in a historic four-story barn. Led by Black Trumpet chef Evan Mallett, Grow-Out participant chefs will each be preparing a dish that highlights heirloom vegetables grown by local Grow-Out participant farmers. The meal, to be enjoyed overlooking picturesque Berry Hill and Meadow’s Mirth Farms, will be complemented by locally produced beverages and live bluegrass. Tickets costs $95 each and are available online or by phone (617.236.5200). One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards funding next year’s RAFT Grow-Out, a project designed to celebrate and raise awareness of agricultural biodiversity by growing regionally significant, heirloom vegetables.
