Fresh from the Family Farm Benefit

Showing small scale farmers the love, nearly forty restaurants in and around Boston will be participating in the first annual Fresh from the Family Farm – a weeklong benefit that runs from Sunday, October 12th through Sunday, October 19th. Each participating restaurant (and we’re talking about some pretty heavy hitters, including spots like the Ashmont Grill, Aujourd’hui, East Coast Grill, Evoo, The Fireplace, Garden at the Cellar, Hamersley’s, Hungry Mother, Lineage, Lumière, Oleana, Persephone, Rialto, Tastings and Tomasso Trattoria) will showcase menu items that feature produce, beef, poultry, fish, shellfish, cheese or dairy from family-owned and operated farms. Proceeds from the sale of these highlighted dishes benefit Chefs Collaborative and Farm Aid, as well as Verrill Farm (the Concord-based farm, which has been supplying Massachusetts restaurants and residents with farm-fresh produce for more than ten years, recently lost its farm stand to a fire). For more information about the fundraiser, including a full list of participating restaurants, check out the event Fresh from the Family Farm website.
