Incredibly versatile, these sweet and crunchy treats from Henrietta’s Table‘s Peter Davis are a must-try this fall. Perfect in salads, as part of a crisp topping or simply served as a little nibble to go with your evening cocktail, they’ll satisfy all your nutty cravings – you can even make many batches and gift them, which shouldn’t be too hard, since you probably have all the ingredients in your cupboards already.

Servings: 8

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 pound walnuts

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Combine all the ingredients, except the walnuts, in a saucepan and simmer very slowly for three minutes.
  3. Pour the glaze over the nuts on a sheet pan and bake, stirring every ten minutes, until the nuts look dry, about thirty to forty minutes.
