The James Beard Foundation has narrowed the field of semifinalists down to the official list of contenders for the 2024 restaurant and chef awards, as announced on their Insta on Wednesday, April 3rd. You can peruse the whole list of potential winners in national and regional categories online or cut right to the chase: the chefs vying for top honors in the Best Chef Northeast category include Conor Dennehy of Talulla in Cambridge, Maria Meza of Dolores in Providence, David Standridge of The Shipwright’s Daughter in Mystic, Jake Stevens of Leeward in Portland and Cara Tobin of Honey Road in Burlington. The team at Dorchester’s Comfort Kitchen is in the running for Best New Restaurant.
