Off Their Plate Providing Meals for Front Line Workers

Local chefs, including Ken Oringer, Jamie Bissonnette and Tracy Chang, have gotten behind Off Their Plate, a grassroots movement to provide nutritious meals to the hospital teams and jobs for those who have lost them. The initiative, which is active in Boston, San Francisco, New York and Pittsburgh (coming soon to DC and Los Angeles), is affiliated with World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit founded by Chef José Andrés designed to use the power of food to empower communities and strengthen economies. Your donation can pull double duty getting service professionals back to work and making sure those on the front line of this pandemic don’t have to waste a moment of time thinking about their next meal. Get all the details and make a donation online here – a $100 allows them to send 10 meals to COVID front line workers and restore three shift hours to someone in the community. If you’ve got the means to make a big contribution or want to make one on behalf of your company you can email inquiries to hello@offtheirplate.org.
