State Street Provisions Opens Tonight

Tonight’s the night for State Street Provisions; the fifth property (their first in Boston) from the Grafton Group opens tonight at 5:00pm. Perched right on Long Wharf where City Landing (and Sel de la Terre before that) used to live, the new spot joins a restaurant family that already includes Grafton Street, Temple Bar, Russell House and Park.

The menu, courtesy of Russell House Tavern alumni Tom Borgia, is “historically-inspired but forward-thinking.” Diners can expect the thoughtful and artfully prepared foods they’ve come to expect from the group including house-made sausages, a fresh pasta-of-the-day, fresh local seafoods and perfectly blistered pizzas. For night owls there’ll be burgers and sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie boards and inexpensive oysters.

The bar program at State Street Provisions melds old and new, catering to both adventurous palates and those that tend to gravitate toward the familiar. They’ve got four wines and Amaro Lucano on tap and even a handful of cocktails that pay tribute to historically significant cargoes that came through Long Wharf (i.e. tea, bananas and molasses).

Call 617.863.8363 for a table or drop by for dinner (255 State Street Boston, MA 02109) any night of the week.
