Observe Columbus Day a little early with a visit to Verrill Farm’s annual Pumpkin and Potato Festival. The event takes place on Saturday, October 11th, from 12:00-4:00pm and will include festivities like free hay rides to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch; samples of several varieties of roasted potatoes and apple ciders from the Bolton and Boxmill Orchards; seasonal recipes from the farm stand kitchen and live music by Two for the Show. While you’re there, don’t forget to swing by the deli section of the farm for some seasonal favorites from the farm stand’s kitchen including the Pumpkin Whoopee Pie.
