Paint Your Own Sugar Skull

You can let your inner artista out to play this spooky season at Margaritas & Masterpieces: Dia de los Muertos Edition. Get in touch with your creative side over an afternoon of sugar skull painting at either of two sessions: Saturday, October 28th at 3:00pm at Painted Burro in Somerville or Sunday, October 29th at 3:00pm at Burro Bar in the South End. Just take your pick between the two and reserve a seat to take part.

For the uninitiated, the Mexican holiday (usually observed on November 1st and 2nd) is a chance to commune with and pay tribute to deceased loved ones and sugar skulls are meant to represent the interconnectedness of life and death. Tickets are $30 each (before processing fees), which includes everything you need to create your keepsake (a plaster skull, paint and brushes ‘though you’re welcome to bring additional accoutrements like glitter, stickers or rhinestones) as well as a signature Dia De Los Muertos Margarita. Nibbles and additional beverages will be available a la carte.

No experience required but you do have to be 21+ and the tickets are non-refundable (so you should also be committed). Grab your tickets for the Saturday session at Painted Burro in Davis Square online here or hold your spot for the Sunday installment at Burro Bar South End online here and get ready for a day of art, culture & creativity.
