Jacques and Julia’s Great Idea

It’s been twenty years since Julia Child and Jacques Pépin co-founded the Certificate Program in the Culinary Arts at Boston University and it’s time to celebrate. For The Big Event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th, Chef Pepin has rounded up an all-star roster that includes graduates of the Certificate Program in the Culinary Arts and an impressive group of chefs, authors and teachers who’ve contributed their time and expertise over the years. From 6:00-9:00pm guests can sample food and drink from more than sixty restaurants, wineries and breweries; browse through a wide range of cookbooks – and in some cases get them signed by the authors; and bid on items in silent auctions that raise money for the Boston University Metropolitan College Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Scholarship and the Jacques Pépin Fund for Scholarship in Food Studies. Tickets, which cost $50 apiece, are limited so call 617.353.9852 to get yours and to rub elbows with Jody Adams of Rialto, Rich Barron of Il Capriccio, Jamie Bissonnette of Toro, Barry Maiden of Hungey Mother, Jasper White of the Summer Shack and countless other notable figures from Boston’s culinary community (to see the full list go to the event website). To reserve tickets call 617.353.9852.
