Dear Annie in Cambridge combines the forces of two Somerville scenemakers — Lauren Friel of Rebel Rebel, a natural wine bar in Bow Market, and Andrew Brady and Sara Markey of Field & Vine in Union Square. The buzzy, quirky neighborhood pub at 1741 Massachusetts Avenue between Harvard and Porter Squares combines the best of its three founders' strengths to elevate the wine bar concept into a culinary experience.

The thoughtfully curated menu is made up of homemade, locally-sourced, sustainable fish and vegetarian items, including their own in-house baked bread and preserved fishes, salads and pizzas (perfect for late nights on weekends). The wine list features an ever-changing selection of fine and rare natural wines, and there are around 20 wines available by the glass every night, all chosen based on the evening’s menu selections, the seasons, the weather, and “what they’re vibing on.” The entire list is not printed, so be sure to ask your server or bartender to find something that suits your own vibe, and explore the “super secret” list.

The diminutive intimate dining room is walk-in only with one large table for communal seating and casual service (grab your own silverware and napkins). There are lovely touches of tasteful local artwork, lots of wine bottles to peruse on the shelving, and sometimes they even push the table and chairs aside for an all-night dance party (be sure to follow them on Instagram for the scoop).
