The much anticipated opening of Matt Jennings’ Townsman is upon us – finally. The award-winning cooker returns to his roots (and his hometown), setting up shop in the brand spanking new Radian Building at 120 Kingston Street, right on the edge of Chinatown on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The inaugural menu is full of the locally-driven, New England brasserie-style fare that’s earned Jennings four shout-outs from James Beard Foundation, as well as a robust charcuterie program that serves as a reminder of his prowess on the Cochon 555 circuit. Meghan Thompson, most recently of Steel & Rye in Milton, oversees the desserts; Sean Frederick is in charge of the beverage program; and Meredith Gallagher’s got the wine and the whole front-of-house thing under control. Townsman will be open for dinner from 5:30-10:00pm Monday-Thursday and 5:30-11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
