Taste America: Boston Edition

The James Beard Foundation’s national culinary tour comes to Boston this fall for a celebration of the city’s food culture. The event begins with a bang at “A Night of Culinary Stars” (aka a benefit dinner for JBF) on Friday, November 3rd at 6:00pm at Taj Boston. To get the evening started, enjoy hors d’oeuvres from seven local chefs including Gurminder Gidda of Taj BostonCarolyn Johnson of 80 ThoreauMichael Lombardi and Kevin O’Donnell of SRV, Juan Pedrosa of Yvonne’s, Cassie Piuma of Sarma and Marc Sheehan of Loyal Nine at the cocktail and tasting reception. Then, Chef Daniel Boulud of Bar BouludKaren Akunowicz of Myers + Chang, and Maura Kilpatrick of Oleana will prepare a memorable and mouthwatering dinner.

For even more time with Daniel Boulud and Karen Akunowicz, continue the celebration the next day on Saturday, November 4th with complimentary cooking how-to’s at Sur La Table: Copley Place. The demonstrations, book signings and tastings from local producers and artisans start at 10:00am. While the in-store events are free, reservations will be accepted starting Friday, October 20th and are highly recommended (kitchen space is limited, people).
