A personality-driven, historically-inspired concept in East Cambridge, Loyal Nine serves a menu of East Coast revival cuisine. A reflection of chef-owner Marc Sheehan’s passion for the region’s historical culinary traditions, the menu features dishes that tap into the clean flavor profiles taken in large part from ingredients sourced up and down the coast.
The wine program highlights bottles from grower-producers, and includes culled by-the-glass and carafe selections; the beer program focuses on unique, predominantly domestic brands and, along with eight tap lines, includes larger format beers and bottles/cans. A reflection of its popularity during colonial times, traditional ciders are available in abundance. There are also plenty of rum and brandy-focused drinks as well as a twist on the dirty martini.
When not open for dinner service, Loyal Nine’s dining room serves as an accessible seating area to its adjoining café, open daily. Offering a variety of food and beverage, everything is prepared and served at the same standard as the restaurant’s service, albeit in a coffeehouse.
