For a sweet summer twist on your basic beer dinner, chef Paul Turano will be hosting a Tower Root Beer Dinner at Tryst on Sunday, July 17th. With a three-course menu, Turano celebrates the return of the locally brewed beverage, which disappeared from the market more than thirty years ago. Now, revived by a new generation but still using a handwritten recipe from decades ago, Tower Root Beer has returned. It’ll be making appearances throughout the prix fixe – in dishes like Tower Root Beer and stout-braised beef short ribs and in paired cocktails like the Dark and Cloudy (Goslings Black Seal with ginger beer and root beer). There’ll even be a classic root beer float – with a few modern twists, of course. The dinner, which starts at 6:30pm, costs $29 per person or $40 with the optional cocktail pairing.
