Bakes for Breast Cancer is Back

Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer/Davio's

What if there was a way to support breast cancer research that involved nothing but eating some tasty baked treats? Well dreams do come true as Bakes for Breast Cancer, the sweetest fundraiser of the year, is back in The Hub from Friday, May 10th through Thursday, May 16th.

The annual event invites all your favorite local bakers, pastry chefs, confectioners and chocolatiers to come up with some special confections to sell for the week, and then the monies (either 100% from a designated dessert or 50% of an entire dessert menu) are distributed through grants to cancer research and treatment institutes. So you can feel good about ordering up some Mascarporeo Cookies with Mascarpone Cream from Alta Strada, a Crème Brûlée from Bistro du Midi, or Panna Cotta from Davio’s because it’s all for a good cause. Check out the full list of participating restaurants here — there’s 156 of ‘em!

If you’re not into sweets, you can also make a donation to the cause on their website, and if you have any Qs shoot them an email. The organization has raised more than 2 million dollars for research since its inception in 1999, and every sweet bite counts toward finding a cure.
