Head to Sofra on Wednesday, November 8th to meet Lior Lev Sercarz and check out his new cookbook, A Middle Eastern Pantry. The chef, author and owner of La Boîte, a destination spice atelier in New York City, will be spending the evening with chefs Ana Sortun and Maura Kilpatrick at the Middle Eastern-inspired bakeshop to share some recipes from the book including his all-time favorite dessert, kunafe; shredded phyllo filled with cheese and soaked in honey syrup. He’ll also share his deep knowledge of production, history, cultural resonance, and storage of Middle Eastern ingredients while you nosh on bites of Baharat Lamb Keftas, Malabi with Pomegranate Molasses and Pistachio and more (check out a menu below). Snag some tickets here for $135 per person, which includes the class and a signed copy of the book, and head to Cambridge from 6:30 to 9:00pm. Events at Sofra tend to sell out early so don’t wait too long to jump on it, and give them a ring at 617.661.3161 if you have any Qs.
