The newest addition to both the Aquitaine Group’s arsenal of dining destinations and SOWA’s corner of the South End, Cinquecento, is set for a mid-November opening. The restaurant, whose name means 500 in Italian, takes over the space formally occupied by Rocca (500 Harrison Ave – hence the name) and will combine reclaimed bricks and beams, leather and marble, communal tables and little intimate nooks to create a rustic and welcoming atmosphere. Gaslight alum Christopher Robins and chef de cuisine Justin Winters, formally of Sorellina, will oversee a menu of traditional Roman dishes complemented by an all Italian wine list and Amaro-heavy cocktail program.
