Aka Bistro’s Buche de Noel

You’re probably more in a turkey and stuffing frame of mind, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas sweets. The pastry team at Aka Bistro would be happy to give your holiday desserts a little French flair with a dramatic (and delicious) Bûche de Noël from pastry chef Jillian Rosenberg. She’ll be making the traditional Genoise cake (you know the one – the Yule log-shaped deliciousness filled with pastry cream, coated in ganache, and decorated with meringue mushrooms) in two flavors: chocolate-vanilla and chocolate-Grand Marnier. Pick whichever one you think you and your guests will prefer – each one serves 12 and costs $40.
