Oktoberfest in Canton

Northern Spy/Eventbrite

Munich, Germany is a seven hour flight from Boston, but Canton is just a couple of miles so if you want an authentic beer garden experience this fall all you gotta do is jump in the car and head to Northern Spy on Saturday, September 30th for their annual Oktoberfest celebration. Chef Marc Sheehan and the crew have an impressive lineup of regional craft brewers heading to the historic Revere Copper Mill on the banks of the Neponset River to pour up a slew of festbier, marzen, hefeweizen, Pilsner, and lagers, plus there’ll be tons of authentic sausages, schnitzel, sauerkraut, hearth-roasted suckling pig, fries with curry ketchup, and of course plenty of spätzle.

Grab tickets here for one of two sessions of tastings, either 11:00am to 3:00pm, or 4:00pm to 8:00pm, which cost $25 each and include two vouchers redeemable for your first beer and sausage (or however you want to spend them); after that you can purchase any food and drink a la carte. Tickets for sessions are not interchangeable, so don’t get your times confused — or just buy tickets for both sessions and hang out the whole time like they do it in Germany. If you have any Qs give the restaurant a call at 781.989.1850, and check out a partial list of participating breweries below. Please note that dogs and other pets are not allowed at the festival.
