30th Annual Harvard Square Oktoberfest

Break out your steins and don your lederhosen in preparation for the 30th annual Harvard Square Oktoberfest. Scheduled for Sunday, October 11th from 12:00 to 6:00pm, this year’s event will feature more than 200 artists and vendors selling their wares, six stages of live entertainment, kid friendly activities, hot air balloon rides, and of course a whole host of gut things to eat. Enjoy Raymond Ost of Sandrine’s authentic Alsatian-influenced Oktoberfest dishes, a ceremonial keg tapping and Bavarian feast at Grendel’s Den, a tasty bier at the Grafton Street/Sam Adams Beer Garden, Jasper White‘s Summer Shack shrimp skewers and clam chowder, Paul O’Connell‘s signature Chez Henri Cuban and a whole host of other delicious internationally inspired fare. Also, new this year will be the Honk! Festival Parade hosted by Click and Clack from Car Talk. Beginning in Davis Square at noon, the parade will feature 30 marching bands and a bevy of cyclists, walkers and other environmentally friendly focused folks who will make their way to Harvard Square by 1:00pm. Entrance into this afternoon of Germanic food and fun is free so make sure you drop by at some point – for more information check out the Harvard Square website.
