After nearly a decade in North Cambridge, Urban Hearth is settling into a larger home. James Beard Award finalist Erin Miller opens her Michelin recommended restaurant in its new Inman Square location on Saturday, June 20th, bringing an expanded dining room, a full-service bar and more ways for diners to enjoy the restaurant’s deeply personal approach to hospitality.
The new space at 1281 Cambridge Street (former home of Bukowski’s) seats 60 guests, including a six-seat chef’s counter and 10 bar seats. Designed by local studio Superette, the dining room draws inspiration from New England’s forests and fields, incorporating walnut, granite and artwork from area artists, including a custom glass installation suspended above the bar.
Miller’s ingredient-driven cooking remains at the heart of the restaurant. Dishes on the debut menu include marinated Maine lobster with buttered popcorn emulsion and tilefish crudo cured with wild chamomile, alongside the laminated buttermilk biscuit with smoked maple miso butter, which has become a signature favorite. A newly expanded beverage program adds seasonal cocktails, thoughtfully sourced wines, local beers and a non-alcoholic menu built with the same attention to detail.
Urban Hearth opens Saturday, June 20th at 5:00pm and will serve dinner Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00-10:00pm. Reservations are available via OpenTable so book your spot to be among the first to check out their new digs. You can also hop over to their shiny new website or give them a follow on Insta for little sneak peeks and previews, and to stay in-the-know about about all the goings-on.
