Urban Hearth Public Art Project

Rocky Cotard

The crew at Urban Hearth has invited Boston artist Rocky Cotard to turn their patio into his next work of art with an inspirational mural designed to provoke thought and action in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Cotard, born in Haiti and raised in Boston, draws inspiration from heritage and history with his work and aims to fight against the unbalanced power in society. He has been featured in Metro Boston, has presented at Lesley University, and has had his work displayed in the Aviary Gallery in Jamaica Plain.

This collaboration aims to share stories of culture, equality and understanding. The heart and soul of this cozy North Cambridge spot is about community and creating change in the world. With both prix fixe and a-la-carte options, Urban Hearth shares globally-inspired, locally-sourced dishes on the menu to celebrate a communal rich and complex connection with food and the world.

Cotard will be working on the project throughout the week, adding to the piece every day. You can track his progress and enjoy a great meal — the patio at Urban Hearth is open Tuesday-Saturday from 4:00-9:00pm, reservations are encouraged, so book your seats today and support the cause.
