Chef Wanted at Met Back Bay

Tune in to the Food Network tonight at 10:00pm to see a few familiar faces from Met Back Bay. The Dartmouth Street steak house recently hosted chef and television personality Ann Burrell for a taping of Chef Wanted, her new competitive cooking show. The first round features four cookers trying to win the heart and mind of executive chef Todd Winer with a spectacular burger; the second round asks the remaining three contenders to recreate a dish as many times as possible for speed and consistency; the third and final round features the finalists each handling their own dinner service at the Back Bay restaurant.

Owner Kathy Sidell is bound to secrecy as to who wins and whether or not he or she is actually going to be taking on the role of chef once it’s all said and done but she was able to tell us that working with Ann Burrell was a delight, “She was fabulous. A true pro – both on camera and when it came to evaluating food. Articulate and passionate.” Sidell, who has a background in production as well as restaurant-running, had a blast and felt the show really captured the essence of her day to day as a restaurateur.

Watch from the comfort of your own couch or tune in from any of the four Met Club restos – The Metropolitan Club in Chestnut Hill (617.731.0600), The Met Bar and Grill in Natick (508.651.0003), The Met Bar & Grill in Dedham (781.467.1234) or The Met Back Bay itself (617.267.0451) – where they’ll be hosting viewing parties.
