Up-and-Comers Compete at Almost Famous Chef

Before top chefs were top chefs, many of them were top culinary students. See eight of these up-and-comers compete for the title of Almost Famous Chef on Wednesday, February 2nd. Students from a handful of New England schools (Bunker Hill Community College, Johnson & Wales, New England Culinary Institute and the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts) will be searing and sautéing busily in the Bunker Hill Community College kitchen while local chefs (Jason Santos, Todd Winer, Mary Dumont and Chris Douglass) and food-writers (Nick Altshuler, Louisa Kason and Michael Prerau) offer some words of wisdom and name a winner (of up to $20,000 in prizes, an apprenticeship and the title of Almost Famous Chef). You can watch all the action and see who’s tops in creativity, personality, kitchensavvy and poise under pressure. RSVP through the event website.
