Host – The Fed
Named the 5th Best Hotel Bar in the United States by USA Today. The Fed, a charming new destination bar, is a British-inspired cocktail pub with a New England twist. Located on the first floor of The Langham, Boston, it features a sophisticated space with a large and animated central bar, surrounding seating for a more intimate experience and an outdoor terrace. Serving craft cocktails and beers and elevated pub fare, The Fed is the place to celebrate any of life’s moments, big or small.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hospitable, welcoming, and friendly guest service is essential
- Greet and seat guests
- Answer the telephone, take reservations, manage reservations and pace of seating
- Stock menus and ensure they are clean and free of blemishes
- Responsible for handling guest requests and notifying manager
- Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Brand standards
- Ensure restaurant remains clean and tidy
- Receive takeout orders via phone and in person; ensure guests receive proper orders.
- Attend all training sessions as determined by supervisor
- Assist bartender, busser, and bar back as needed
- Complete assigned side work
- Additional duties not mentioned above may also be requested by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Use oral communication to perform job and to communicate clearly when speaking with guests both in person and on the phone
- Stand, reach, grasp, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand for length of shift.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy restaurant environment while maintaining service standards
- Previous experience in similar environment preferred.
- React professionally and remain in control when working with high volume under pressure.
- Work in partnership with other hotel departments to accommodate guest requests
- React well and remain productive when working with high volume under pressure
- Familiarity with OpenTable a plus
- Qualified candidates hired full time will be eligible for hotel benefits
