Café G at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is now seeking one full-time and one part-time Server to join our team. These positions offer daytime hours, a beautiful work environment and a respectful, professional work culture.
Total tip and wage compensation is consistently $30 to $45/hr. All front of house staff are compensated equally in a pooled tip system. Café G is open Wednesday through Monday, closed on Tuesdays. We serve lunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm, and serve dinner on Thursday nights from 4:30-8:00pm.
Based on our current scheduling needs, Saturday, Sunday & Monday availability are required. We ask that you please only apply if you are available for all three of those days (at least two if only seeking part-time). We are also open around the holidays and tend to be very busy that time of year. Strong preference will be given to candidates who stay local to Boston around Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Competitive candidates possess a genuine enthusiasm for assisting and serving guests, professional appearance, impeccable reliability and strong work ethic. Cafe G is a very fast paced, consistently busy and efficient restaurant. Because of this, some previous restaurant work experience is required.
The folks on our team are a friendly, hard working crew. Our system encourages all staff to be problem solvers, and to contribute solutions and creativity to our day to day operations. We find it crucial that all members of the team are capable of executing all roles, from hosting and managing a wait list, to preparing drinks, to taking orders and making menu recommendations. This allows for greater scheduling flexibility, and a greater awareness of the restaurant as a whole.
Uniforms and aprons are provided, as well as one complimentary meal per shift.
