The Briar Group is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our management team!

The Briar Group is one of Boston’s most experienced restaurant operators, proudly behind beloved city staples including The Harp, Hurricanes at the Garden, Ned Devine’s, MJ O’Connor’s, Broken Records, and more.

We are looking for a strong culinary leader who is passionate about food, hospitality, and developing great teams. Our restaurants are fast-paced, high-volume environments where Executive Chefs have the autonomy to lead creatively while being supported by an experienced resource team.

Position Overview:
The Executive Chef oversees all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards for food quality, consistency, sanitation, financial performance, and team development. The ideal candidate is an experienced restaurant leader who thrives in a high-volume environment and knows how to build a positive, accountable, and high-performing kitchen culture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, coach, and develop the BOH team while fostering a positive and professional culture.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure consistent, high-quality execution.
• Manage BOH scheduling, staffing, labor, food costs, inventory, ordering, and waste.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, sanitation, and food safety.
• Partner with restaurant leadership to achieve operational and financial goals.
• Collaborate on menu development, seasonal offerings, specials, and events.
• Build strong vendor relationships and maintain effective inventory and ordering practices.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar culinary leadership role.
• High-volume restaurant experience.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food quality, labor, and cost controls.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive team culture.
• Passion for food, hospitality, and exceptional guest experiences.
• Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
