Tea is not just for steeping and sipping, it’s also a great flavor agent for baked goods, and Sofra’s Maura Kilpatrick is going to show you how to use it properly on Thursday, May 4th at a special Tea Time – Bakes for Breast Cancer class. The owner and executive pastry chef of the acclaimed Cambridge bakery will be leading a demonstration-style session from 6:30 to 9:30pm to teach you how to make Lemon Curd Biscuits with Curio Mariposa Butterfly Pea Flower syrup and Strawberries; Pistachio Rose M’Hencha soaked with MEM Linden flower tea syrup; and Revani – a syrup soaked semolina cake with rhubarb and MEM Mount Olympus tea.

There will be plenty of Sofra snacks for munching while you watch the master at work, plus you’ll get to try the demo treats with some sips of their famous chai and take home a packet of the recipes. The class will surely sell out so grab your spot here for $135. All of the proceeds will be donated to Bakes for Breast Cancer – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds breast cancer research, so your evening will be a little extra sweet. If you have any Qs you can email or give them a call at 617.661.3161, and be sure bookmark their Cooking Classes page to make sure you don’t miss any upcoming events.
