The city’s top tier sweets-makers put their talents to good use for a good cause during Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer. From Monday, May 6th through Sunday, May 12th, participating restaurants will be donating the proceeds from a designated dessert to breast cancer research and care. Feast your eyes on the treats below and plan your philanthropic outings accordingly.
The folks at Field & Vine are making Muhallabiyeh in honor of Boston Bakes. The Lebanese dessert, which is weetened with honey, includes rose hip jam, hibiscus flowers, pistachio and a citrus-sesame tuille.
With eight locations across the city, Flour Bakery & Cafe gives you plenty of chances to do good during Boston Bakes. Just find the nearest outpost of Joanne Chang's award-winning spot and scoop up one (or a dozen!) of their new seasonal muffins — the Strawberry Mascarpone, which combines tangy mascarpone and sweet strawberry preserves in a tender buttermilk muffin.
The fresh and honest philosophy at Henrietta's Table is on full display in their Boston Bakes dessert; the simple-yet-delicious, seasonal-but-timeless Farmers Custard comes with mixed berries and shortbread cookies.
