MRU Speaker Series: Will Guidara

The restaurant industry has come a long way since the shutdowns of the pandemic, but there are still a lot of obstacles to tackle, which will be the focus at the next in-person speaker event from Mass Restaurants United (MRU) on Monday, June 10th. The advocacy group that formed during the COVID-19 crisis by independent restaurant owners is hosting a visit from author Will Guidara at The Huntington Theatre for a frank discussion about the current state of the industry and what’s standing in the way of success, and if you have thoughts on the subject this is your chance to share them. You’ll also get to hear from a panelist of some of Boston’s best chefs and restauranteurs like Jamie Bissonnette of Somaek, Jody Adams of Porto, La Padrona and Trade, Nancy Cushman of O Ya, Hojoko and Bianca, Chelven Randolph of Nosh & Grog, Seth Gerber of Mida and more.

Guidara is the author of the national bestselling book, Unreasonable Hospitality, which chronicles his career in hospitality, including his time as a co-owner of Eleven Madison Park. He will be the keynote speaker amongst a panel of other important industry figures who will be discussing all things restaurants starting at 10:00am. Get your tickets here for $85, and check out more about the good work that MRU does to give independent restaurants a voice in local and state government on their website or follow them on Instagram. You can also keep up with Guidara by signing up for his email newsletter, “Pre-Meal,” here.
