Make Pistachio Pastries at Sofra


Pistachios are so much more than salty snacks, in fact they are the backbone of some of the Mediterranean region’s most elegant desserts. Learn all about the distinguished seeds with pastry chef Nik Mastalerz on Thursday, April 18th at Happy Nuts – Three Favorite Pistachio Desserts workshop at Sofra from 6:00 to 8:30pm. The mastermind behind sister restaurant Oleana’s sweets will show you how to make three recipes inspired by the southeastern Turkish city of Antep, including Mussel Baklava with Pistachio Frangipane and Smoked Cardamom Syrup, Pistachio Semifreddo with Turkish Coffee Lady Fingers, and Whipped Mascarpone with Strawberries and Rose Hibiscus Candied Pistachios, and all you need to do is grab a spot here for $130 per person. The class is taught in a demonstration style, so Mastalerz will do the baking while you get to do all the tasting. You’ll even get a packet of recipes to take home so that you can master the ways of the “happy nut” on your own.
