Grafton Street Reopens in New Harvard Sq. Digs

Grafton Street Pub & Grill

Closed since 2020 (thanks, Covid), Grafton Street Pub & Grill makes its triumphant return to Harvard Square in the space that once housed its sister restaurant, Park Restaurant & Bar. The venerable fave, which has been delighting Cantabrigians since 1996, is now officially open at 59 JFK Street.

The address may be different but there are plenty of familiar elements that’ll make you feel right at home – the casual and inviting dining room with a variety of comfy seating options, and their super friendly staff including longtime bartender, Paul Barry, who’s been part of the team since the early days. There’s a new-but-familiar face in the kitchen: chef Tom Borgia, who joined the group in 2013 at Russell House Tavern before decamping to Boston to open State Street Provisions, will be at the helm at the new Grafton as Executive Chef.

Borgia’s spring menu features Grafton’s brand of approachable New American fare. There are Small Plates for snacking and sharing (fried oysters, smoked wings, chickpea fritters and more) as well as Large Plates for a more substantial meal (think: grilled strip loin, spicy fried chicken sandwich and, of course, fish and chips – a wee nod to their Irish-ish roots). There’s a lengthy list of creative craft beverages to complement your meal and you’ll always be able to get a perfectly pulled pint at the bar.

Grafton Street will be getting back up to speed starting with dinner service Wednesday through Sunday from 5:00pm-12:00am (drinks ’til 2:00) ‘though you can expect brunch to return sometime in April. Stay in the loop re: the goings-on at Grafton on their website or social or pop over to Harvard Square for a pint and to check our their new spot.
