Pig Pickin’ Benefit at Redbones

On Monday, August 9, Redbones invites you to join them for a down home Pig-Pickin’ to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition. The rib joint is firing up its portable smoker right outside the restaurant on Chester Street, slow roasting a whole hog, and encouraging folks to stop by. The smoking and basting goes on all day; the pickin’ begins at 6:00pm. Drop in from 6:00-9:00pm for slow-roasted, smoked pig with all the fixings, including slaw, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, chips, corn bread and watermelon. The Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society Brass Band and the Spring Hill Rounders will be on hand for musical entertainment. Tickets for the event cost $20 per person and reservations are requested. Call Redbones at 617.628.2200 to save your spot or for more information.
