Mother’s Day is just around the corner and for those of you who’d like
to pay tribute over brunch, here are a few area options for Sunday, May 8th.

Azure
Fathman rolls out the red carpet for mom on Mother’s Day with an a la carte
menu of Azure
favorites. Treat mom to tuna tartare with lambs lettuce, house pickeled ginger
and tamarind citrus ginger; duck confit and buckwheat crepes with caramelized
onion soubise, fontina cheese and lardons; or pan seared north Atlantic salmon
with parnsip puree, fava beans, English peas, shiitake mushrooms and star anise

Bambara
Haimowitz pulls out all the stops for mom this year with a festive prix
fixe brunch, available from 10:00am-3:00pm at Bambara
at the Hotel Marlowe. Drop by for roast beef tenderloin with horseradish cream;
crab crusted halibut; candied orange French toast with roasted strawberries

Fosnot will be serving specialties like fennel soup with grilled calamari,
black olives, fava beans and orange oil; roasted lobster with fresh pea puree,
pea shoots and ramps with chervil butter; and rotisserie leg of lamb with
creamy polenta, spring peas and mint. Pastry Chef Michelle Vernier
will be whipping up desserts like from strawberry shortcake with lemon-thyme
and sweet cream; chocolate semifreddo with fresh raspberries and a chocolate
wafer; and three fruit sorbets with biscotti. The a la carte brunch runs from

Bonfire

Cates presents a special Mother’s Day brunch designed to put a little
sizzle in mom’s special day. The a la carte menu, which is available from
11:30am-4:30pm, boasts everything from Bonfire’s renowned tacos to special
dishes like the brioche French toast with Meyer lemon marmalade, tropical
fruit and warm Vermont syrup; and yellow fin tuna: warm shrimp, tomato and

Caffe Umbra
Brennan celebrates Mother’s Day and Caffe
Umbra‘s third birthday on Sunday, May 8th with a special retrospective
menu. Join Order off the spring menu or choose from specials plucked from
Caffe Umbra’s first menu. Choose from dishes like braised beef brisket with
hot creamed spinach and pickled walnuts; seared scallops vol-au-vent in puff
pastry; and sweet fennel bread pudding with caramel espresso sauce. Dinner

Chillingsworth
in Brewster shakes off the last remnants of winter and jumps into spring on
Mother’s Day, when they kick off their summer season with a special three-course
Mother’s Day Luncheon. Chef Nitzi
Rabin is keeping the menu under wraps for the time being, but the restaurant

Davio’s
Davio’s has two options for Mother’s Day – head to their Arlington
Street spot for an a la carte menu boasting dishes like braised short rib
potato hash with farm fresh eggs over easy and horseradish sauce; brioche
French toast with sautéed bananas and amaretto sauce; or grilled center
cut filet mignon with creamy potatoes, fried oysters and béarnaise
sauce from chefs Eric Schwartz and Steve Brown. Opt for the
other side of the river for a $45 prix fixe menu from Paul King that
includes Belgian waffles, eggs benedict; chilled poached shrimp with tomato
horseradish sauce; baked filet of sole with crabmeat, spinach; oven roasted
pork loin with prosciutto, spinach, roasted peppers and fontina. Both locations
will be serving their Mother’s Day brunch menu from 12:00-4:00. Call either

Finale
celebration of Mother’s Day, both Finale
locations (that’s Park Square and Harvard Square) will be open for special
holiday hours starting at 12:00pm. Executive pastry chef Nicole
Coady honors moms everywhere with a special dessert called “P’s Please”,
a pistachio cake with fromage blanc, panna cotta and marinated Mirabelle plums.
One hundred percent of the sale of “P’s Please” dessert will go to the Eva
Brownman Breast Cancer Fund at Dana Farber, so drop by either location for

Pooler welcomes guests to Harvest
on Sunday, May 8th for a three-course, prix fixe Mother’s Day menu. Treat
mom to dishes like artichoke bisque, with peekytoe crab meat, shiitake and
oyster mushrooms; Long Island duck breast with buckwheat groats, sherried
vidalia onion puree, pea greens and duck jus; or eggs benedict with jumbo
California asparagus, crabmeat and preserved lemon hollandaise. Recently appointed
pastry chef Liz O’Connell will be rolling out desserts like coconut
rice pudding with kataifi and mango compote; and caramel panna cotta with
a marshmallow kiss and hazelnut crunch. The Mother’s Day menu will be available

L’Espalier
commemorates Mother’s Day with a $65 prix fixe menu from chef Frank
McClelland. Available from 11:30am-2:00pm, the menu boasts options like
house smoked salmon and blini with a salad of grapefruit, hearts of palm and
capers; avocado crusted lamb with spaghetti squash and pickled quail egg;
lime and coconut jus; and rhubarb and strawberry pancakes with hot Vermont
maple syrup. L’Espalier will also open for Mother’s Day dinner on Sunday evening

Meritage
Bruce introduces a new spring brunch menu just in time for Mother’s Day.
While taking in spectacular waterfront views of Boston’s historic harbor,
guests can indulge in brunch favorites like omelets made to order, a tropical
and summer fruit plate and a selection of sausages, galantines and patés.
Throughout the meal, servers circulate the dining room offering guests savory
and dessert tasting plates and Bruce’s signature tasting spoons. Brunch costs

Rialto
Mother’s Day at Rialto,

Adams will be offering a special seasonal menu to honor moms. Options
include fresh green pea soup with Maine crab pistachio crème fraiche
and brioche croutons; and steamed lobster with smoked shrimp ravioli, oven-dried
tomatoes and pea tips. For dessert, dig into crème caramel with lemon
cookies and raspberries from pastry chef – and mother of two – Tal Shofman-Schejter.

Sel de la Terre
Gardner invites guests to treat their mothers to a taste of France this
Mother’s Day with a sumptuous Provencal-inspired brunch at Sel
de la Terre. Served from 11:00am-2:30pm, the brunch menu features options
like seared scallops with smoked bacon, potato and scallion nage; poached
eggs with duck hash, spinach and hollandaise sauce; and applewood smoked free-range
chicken with roasted carrots, fresh cranberry beans, broccoli rabe and glazed

Swans Café
Café at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel will be offering a special Mother’s
Day Tea from 12:00-6:00pm on Sunday, May 8th. Their traditional, formal Afternoon
Tea will feature a variety of special drink and food choices from chef Justino
Fernandes created just for the day as well as free gifts for all Mothers
in attendance. Boston’s only tea sommelier will be on hand to offer guidance

Fisheries with brunch buffet from 11:00am-4:00pm. The buffet, which costs
$54 per person ($19 for children under 12 and free for children 4 and under),
includes options like sliced smoked salmon, capers and red onions; lobster
and morel quiche potato crusted halibut with spring onions, peas and Barolo
reduction; and dessert options like white chocolate passion fruit torte and

UpStairs on the Square
in the mood for celebration, UpStairs
on the Square opens the doors of both of its dining rooms to celebrate
mothers and motherhood on Sunday, May 8th. Guests get to choose between The
Monday Club Bar and Zebra Room where chef Susan
Regis‘ brunch menu will be served from 11:00am-3:00pm. The three-course
brunch costs $48 per person ($24 for children under 12) and includes options
like chestnut crèpe with fresh ricotta and brandied cherries; pomegranate-basted
leg of lamb with fresh pea ravioli and picked mint; and steamed chocolate
and espresso cake with buttermilk gelato. Diners can also opt for a leisurely
Sunday afternoon dinner in the sunlit Soirée Room where they’ll be
serving a truly memorable four-course dinner, from noon to 6:00pm on Mothers’
