Meritage Wine School

For anyone who enjoys a great glass a wine, but gets stymied by what to order or by which wines work with certain foods, Meritage’s Wine School starts its autumn session. Held on the third Tuesday of each month, every educational session begins with a 30-minute reception at the Meritage bar with sommelier Jamie Moore. At 6:30 guests are seated in the dining room, for a five-course wine dinner specially created by Meritage chef Daniel Bruce. While students experience first hand how the wines enhance the flavor of food, Moore will explain the origin and craftsmanship of each wine. Participation is by reservation only. The cost is $85 per person, inclusive of all wines, not including tax and tip. Sign up for either of these summer installments: Tuesday, September 16th The Rise of Fall Whites – Explore the white wine varietals of Germany and Alsace that pair well with autumnal fare; Tuesday, October 21st La Fête de la Vigne – Celebrate “the crush” with wines from major wine-producing regions of the northern hemisphere; Tuesday, November 18th Meritage Foliage – Turn your thoughts to big reds that epitomize the art of blending and warm us when paired with more hearty cuisine.
