Whatever you’re giving up for Lent, celebrate Fat Tuesday, (or Martedi Grasso, as it’s called in Italy) at Grotto, where chef Scott Herritt invites guests to live it up with a menu filled with decadent foods inspired by Italy’s most famous food region Emila-Romagna. The Martedi Grasso menu is available in either three or four courses and features dishes like baby spinach, beets, goat cheese, spiced walnuts, and raspberry vinaigrette; potato gnocchi, four hour braised beef short ribs, mushrooms, and gorgonzola; black truffle crusted rack of lamb, potato and butternut squash gratin, wilted greens, and marsala wine sauce; and banana bread pudding with caramel ice cream. Three courses cost $38 and four courses cost $48. Call Grotto at 617.227.3434 for reservations and more information.
