Don’t Dessert Us!

Twelve of the area’s top chefs team up with twelve of the hottest design professionals (architects, fashion and interior designers) in the third annual Don’t Dessert Us!, on Thursday, October 9th. Here’s how it works: in this combination of fine design and sweet treats, chefs create an original dessert, which then serves as inspiration for the designers who create a one-of-a-kind evening gown based on the dessert. Along with 600 or so guests, chefs and designers converge, at 6:30pm, at the Boston Design Center Showrooms for hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and a chance to show off their handiwork. The evening benefits Community Servings, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with AIDS as well as their caregivers and dependents. Some of this year’s participating chefs include Alice Feldman, of Azure, John Quinn of Julien at Le Meridien, Maria Cavaleri Gilardo of Tosca, Kilian Weigand of Excelsior, Molly Hanson of The Harvest, Mary-Catherine Deibel of UpStairs on the Square and Noreen Andre of Gourmet Caterers. Tickets cost $100 per person and include hors d’oeuvres reception, cocktails, desserts, liqueur tasting, showroom browsing, and Don’t Dessert Us! fashion gift bags.
