And they’re off! On Saturday, May 7th, Five Horses Tavern will be hosting a Derby Day party complete with Mint Juleps and all the Derby food specials you could ask for. Grab your favorite seersucker outfit and fanciest fascinator and get over to Somerville to sip on bourbon specials like the Sweet Rose cocktail made with Four Roses Bourbon, apricot liqueur, simple syrup, lemon and strawberry while you take in the action. The races begin bright and early (at 10:30am) but the fun at Five Horses Tavern starts at 3:00pm and goes until 7:00pm.
There’ll be prizes Best Dressed and Best Hat (pro tip: the bigger the better) though you have to be at the restaurant between 5:00 and 6:00pm to be eligible to win so plan accordingly (the Davis Square spot has more than 37 craft beers on draft and 150 bourbons and whiskeys from around the globe so you’ll probably be able to find something to do).
