Celebrate St. Patrick at the Gaelic Gourmet Gala

On Wednesday, March 15th, in the spirit of Saint Paddy’s day, Boston’s culinary elite team up with six master chefs from Ireland for the first annual Gaelic Gourmet Gala. The gastronomic welcome committee includes local chefs Jasper White of Summer Shack; Michael Schlow of Radius, Via Matta and Great Bay; Marc Orfaly of Pigalle and North End newcomer Marco; Ken Oringer of Clio and the recently opened Toro; Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park, B&G Oyster and The Butcher Shop; and Seth & Angela Raynor of Nantucket favorites The Pearl and The Boarding House. The evening’s festivities, which run from 6:00-9:00pm at the Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, include an outstanding night of gourmet delights and both a silent and live auction (with prizes like an all-expenses paid vacation to Ireland, gift certificates to participating restaurants and Sox tickets). Visiting chefs, who’ll be showcasing New Irish Cuisine, an innovative and stylish approach to cooking, include Kevin Dundon of Dunbrody House Hotel & Cookery School in County Wexford; Darina Allen of Ballymaloe House & Cookery School in County Cork; Richard Hart of Glenlo Abbey Hotel in County Galway; David McCann of Dromoland Castle in County Clare; Neven Maguire of MacNean’s Bistro in County Cavan; and Michael Deane of Restaurant Michael Deane in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tickets for the event cost $150 per person and can be purchased through the Hotel Commonwealth website.
