Author Tea at UpStairs on the Square

On Sunday, October 30th, Mary Catherine Diebel and Deborah Hughes welcome Provencal author Peter Mayle to UpStairs on the Square for an afternoon tea in celebration of the publication of his Confessions of A French Baker. Spend the afternoon sipping champagne and trying some fabulous sweet and savory treats inspired by the book. The afternoon gets underway at 3:30pm with a menu of little BLTs on bacon bread; toasted Roquefort bread with Roquefort butter and a drizzle of truffle honey; olive bread with French cream cheese and tapenade; thyme bread with chicken salad; milk and dark chocolate truffles; and milk chocolate praline turtles. The tea, which is presented in conjunction with the Harvard Bookstore, costs $55 per person and includes a hardcover copy of the cookbook.
